Following an amazing lead up, some courageous gameplay, and a couple of upsets, the underdog performer Team Exile5 has won the Nvidia Gear Up For Battle Autumn Championship.
Topping in their online qualifier pool over Meka, they went on to beat the more fancied Vox Eminor at the LAN event, and remained undefeated throughout the entire tournament to take away the top spot and over AUD$5,000 in cash.
They defeated MindFreak eSports who remained unbeaten until that final where they put up a massive fight for the win against the big hearts of Team Exile5, but also against a big crowd who were very much backing the underdogs. Coming away with AUD$2,500, they still take away a handsome prize for their efforts albeit not quite good enough on the day. In joint third on the day, Vox Eminor and Frenetic Array came away with $1,250 each after deciding to split the prize following delays earlier in the day meaning the 3/4 play off match would have run well in to the night.
The celebrations were large from Team Exile5 and their supporters, and their unique playstyle, massive comradery and mix of talent pulled them through under the hottest of arenas as they grabbed a big win over the Australasian Call of Duty 4 community.
In the Open Tournament, the team of Noxious came away with a win on Saturday.
The weekend of the event was a very large one and was well received by the community – all of which are thankful to Gigabyte and NVIDIA for their support in making the event happen.
